Often the best bargain computers and computer accessories are found at Computer Fairs.  Whether it a whole computer system with an LCD screen or a printer or just a cable you are probably going to save money

I am for ever wandering around Computer Fairs.  And very good prices they have, too. I tried auctions a couple of times and got ripped off. After all, is there any better way to get rid of rubbish (with no come-back) than to put it into a computer auction. (I am NOT referring to Ebay or similar Internet auctions, which are OK)  But I have never had the same problem at fairs. It is possible that some of the items might be dodgy, such as copied MP3 disks but, on the whole, I think they are well worth a visit. For instance the going rate for a second user 17" monitor seems to be around £30.  If your text is falling off the edge of your screen it is time for a change. Many will enable you to subscribe to e-mail notification and some even offer discounted entrance tickets.

Unfortunately I am unable to give precise dates and locations for many of these.  Advertisements in the Micromart magazine (out Thursdays) are often limited to a few weeks ahead.  I do suggest that you look in that magazine for information. But also try typing "Computer Fairs" in the web search box at the top of this page and follow the leads that you get. Telephone numbers also change rapidly, so apologies if they waste your time.
